Wow! Well done to the Green Group led by Ms Lindsay and Mrs Rakatairi, and to Mrs Marshall. Your work has won Mount Biggs School an Enviroschools Silver Award. Winning silver is not an easy task. Here is what the judges said…
“Your excellent application demonstrated clarity of process and the pride you have in your school environment… Environmental education procedures show a collaborative and strategic approach to learning that is successfully implemented in the school. Through these structures the enviroschools guiding principles can be integrated into classroom learning. This gets all staff involved in teaching and doing environmental education which is a more sustainable model than one person striving to do everything. Well done on this shared approach and involving dedicated and talented parents to facilitate the regular meetings of the envirogroup.”
“The Silver Award means you have demonstrated collective strength and vision as an enviroschool. You continue to create a pathway to a sustainable school environment and are beginning to engage the community by integrating five key areas of school life: Organisational Management; Operational Practices; Living Curriculum; Regional Initiatives and Physical Surroundings.”
Go for Gold Mount Biggs!!!
