I read some interesting thoughts from Michael Ungar about children and physical safey in an article published in the Sunday Star Times dated October 26 2008. He claims that ‘ our children are safer physically than at any time in history. Yet with out some risk they can’t learn responsibility, and by bubblewrapping them from harm we are instead driving them into trying ever more dangerous behaviour.’
He has a new book out called ‘Too Safe for their own Good’ and will be at Poppies Book shop in Feilding on November 11 at 5:30 pm for a seminar on the topic.
